Tax and Compliance Manager
Role Overview
- The Tax & Compliance Manager will lead the delivery of tax and regulatory compliance services to businesses onboarded on the JusticeSure platform.
- This role goes beyond internal compliance – you will be responsible for building, managing, and scaling compliance services as a core business offering, ensuring that client businesses remain fully compliant with all statutory obligations.
- You will work at the intersection of tax, operations, and product, helping to translate compliance requirements into structured, scalable services.
Key Responsibilities
Client Compliance Service Delivery
- Manage end-to-end tax and compliance services for client businesses
- Ensure timely filing and remittance of:
- Company Income Tax (CIT)
- VAT, WHT
- PAYE and other payroll-related obligations
- Act as the primary compliance advisor for assigned client accounts
- Handle client queries and provide guidance on regulatory requirements
Compliance Operations & Process Building
- Design and implement scalable workflows for delivering compliance services
- Create standardized templates, checklists, and timelines for client compliance
- Track and manage compliance deadlines across multiple client entities
- Build systems to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and accountability
Regulatory & Statutory Compliance
- Ensure client businesses comply with requirements from:
- CAC (Corporate Affairs Commission)
- NRS, State Internal Revenue Service (SIRS), and other tax authorities
- Manage company registrations, filings, renewals, and statutory documentation for clients
- Stay up to date with changes in tax laws and proactively advise clients
Product & Platform Collaboration
- Work with the product/tech team to translate compliance workflows into platform features
- Help design and improve the JusticeSure compliance service offering
- Identify opportunities to automate or streamline compliance processes
Risk Management & Advisory
- Identify compliance risks for client businesses and recommend solutions
- Support clients during audits, reviews, and regulatory inquiries
- Provide proactive tax planning and compliance advisory
Requirements
- Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- 2-5 years relevant experience in tax, audit, or compliance
- NYSC completed
- Experience in an audit or tax firm is a strong advantage
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax and regulatory environment
- Experience with CAC, NRS, SIRS processes
- Ability to manage multiple client accounts simultaneously
- Strong process-building and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and client management ability
- High attention to detail and accountability.
