Financial Accountant
A Financial Accountant manages an organization\’s financial health by recording transactions, reconciling accounts, and preparing accurate financial statements (balance sheets, income statements) in compliance with regulations. They are responsible for month-end closing, tax filings, internal audits, and supporting executive decision-making with financial data analysis.
Core Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets and cash flow statements.
- General Ledger & Reconciliation: Manage daily accounting transactions, journal entries, and reconciliation of bank and supplier accounts.
- Compliance & Audit: Ensure compliance with accounting standards (e.g., GAAP/IFRS) and tax regulations; assist with internal and external audits.
- Month-End Close: Conduct monthly and yearly financial close activities.
- Budgeting & Analysis: Assist with budget preparation, monitor financial performance, and analyze variances to identify trends and cost-saving opportunities.
- Tax Compliance: Prepare tax returns and ensure proper payment of taxes.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field.
- Experienced: Proven experience as a Financial Accountant or similar role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and advanced MS Excel skills.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS) and regulatory requirements.
- Attributes: High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and integrity.
