Role Overview
- Successful candidates will be responsible for covering a wide range of stories, including breaking news, politics, business, crime, community affairs, and human-interest features. The role requires a strong ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and produce compelling, fact-checked content for a digital audience.
Key Responsibilities
- Report and write on breaking news and assigned beats
- Conduct interviews with credible sources and stakeholders
- Verify facts, data, and sources to ensure accuracy and credibility
- Develop original story ideas, features, and investigative reports
- Collaborate with editors and other team members to refine content
- Meet strict editorial deadlines while maintaining high journalistic standards
- Monitor trends and emerging stories across local and international landscapes
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Communications, or a related field (preferred)
- 2–3 years of professional reporting experience
- Strong writing, research, interviewing, and storytelling skills
- Solid understanding of journalism ethics, fact-checking, and media law
- Familiarity with digital media tools and online publishing platforms
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
