Volunteer
Role Overview
- Selected volunteers will play a key role in delivering impactful health education sessions within communities, schools, and other safe spaces. They will support ongoing outreach efforts aimed at equipping girls and women with the knowledge and confidence to manage their health and wellbeing effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate engaging and culturally sensitive menstrual health and hygiene education sessions
- Educate adolescent girls and women on sexual and reproductive health topics
- Support awareness campaigns on gender-based violence (GBV) prevention and response
- Participate in community outreach programs, school visits, and sensitization activities
- Provide accurate information and respond to questions in a respectful and inclusive manner
- Collaborate with team members and community stakeholders to ensure effective program delivery
- Submit brief reports or feedback after outreach sessions when required
Requirements
- Female applicants only
- Fluency in both English and Hausa languages
- Background in Nursing, Counseling, Public Health, or related health fields
- Strong passion for community service and women’s empowerment
- Good communication and facilitation skills
- Ability to engage diverse groups, especially adolescents and young women
- Willingness to travel within assigned communities in Sokoto State
