Accountant
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate records of all statutory payments and receipts, including Withholding Tax (WHT),
- revenue remittances, and other regulatory obligations.
- Prepare and monitor the Company’s monthly budgets, including payroll, procurement, and
- operational expenses.
- Manage petty cash disbursements and maintain detailed records of all related transactions and
- expenses.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local financial regulatory requirements, including Tax
- Clearance, NSITF, Pension, and other statutory obligations.
- Liaise with external auditors to ensure timely preparation and maintenance of annual audited
- financial statements and tax clearance documentation.
- Properly document, organize, and file all accounting and finance-related processes and records.
- Maintain both electronic and physical filing systems for accounting documents, vouchers, receipts,
- and supporting records.
- Stay updated on changes in accounting standards, government regulations, and statutory
- compliance requirements.
- Analyse financial data and provide recommendations to Management on financial decisions,
- improvements, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Provide support during internal and external audit exercises and ensure the timely availability of
- required documentation.
- Assist with budgeting, financial forecasting, and cash flow planning and monitoring.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to support organizational goals and operational
- efficiency.
- Carry out any other finance and administrative duties as assigned by Management from time to time.
Qualifications and Experience
- B.Sc Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 4 – 7 years of experience post NYSC.
- Must have completed NYSC
- ACA, ACCA, or ICAN will be an added advantage
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, numeracy, and organizational skills
- Possess Critical-thinking skills and inquisitive
- Ability to use accounting software – QuickBooks and Sage 50.
