Accounts Officer
ROLE OVERVIEW
- A key finance role responsible for managing accounts, ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and providing insightful analysis to support business growth in a dynamic, project-driven agribusiness environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Preparing periodic financial and management reports. Processing financial transactions and reconciliations. Maintain knowledge of BPP financial requirements for government contracts.
- Prepare financial documentation for fundraising rounds, grant applications, and investor due diligence. Prepare budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Monitoring cash flow and treasury operations.
- Ensuring compliance with tax, statutory, and regulatory requirements.
- Supporting internal and external audit exercises. Implementing and maintaining strong internal control processes.
- Assisting management with financial analysis and decision-support reporting.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must possess:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of three (3) to four (4) years of relevant professional experience.
- Professional accounting certification (ICAN, ACCA, ACA, ATS) will be an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, taxation, and regulatory compliance. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software applications.
- Demonstrated experience managing multi-entity or project-based financial operations.
- Knowledge of contract-based financial management and procurement processes.
- Familiarity with World Bank, AfDB, or similar donor compliance frameworks (desirable).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial modelling skills.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
