Junior Associate, Legal & Compliance

Role Summary 

We are an upwardly-mobile Law firm providing legal services to clients in various sectors of the economy.

We are an innovative law practice with dedicated, professional and specialist staff. In order to continue to provide outstanding quality service to our clients, the firm seeks to recruit exceptional Lawyers.

The ideal candidate will provide legal representation to individuals and corporations, advise clients on a broad range of corporate issues and may represent them in litigation, transactions, and regulatory compliance. You will work in a variety of environments, ranging from small businesses to large corporations. In addition, you will advise and resolve complex legal and business issues.

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Negotiate and draft contracts, leases, and other documents;
  • Promote and enforce company policies;
  • Prepare, review, and monitor basic corporate contracts and agreements;
  • Manage litigation and other legal claims;
  • Advise clients on relevant legal matters;
  • Represent clients in court or before administrative agencies;
  • Develop and submit reports;
  • Oversee corporate legal matters, including forming, maintaining, and dissolving entities;
  • Perform initial screenings of documents to determine legal effect and significance;
  • Perform or oversee negotiations and drafting of contracts;
  • Represent the firm at law conferences and legal seminars;
  • Serve as legal advisor to business units
    Maintain awareness of new legal developments and changes in regulations

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Solid academic qualification with at least a second-class degree from a recognized university and the Nigerian Law School. Relevant post-grad qualifications will be an added advantage;
  • 2 –5 years of relevant experience in a similar role;
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills;
  • Previous experience in a similar role;
  • Proximity to Ikeja, Lagos.
