OSP Fibre Design Engineer
Job Summary
- Responsible for planning, surveying, and designing Outside Plant (OSP) fiber optic networks for FTTH deployments. Ensures scalable, cost-effective, and build-ready designs that meet industry standards and project timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Design FTTH OSP networks (backbone, feeder, distribution, drop) using GPON/XGS-PON
- Produce OSP layouts, route maps, splice diagrams, and construction drawings
- Perform field surveys, route validation, and infrastructure assessments
- Prepare BOMs, cost estimates, and as-built documentation
- Provide technical support during construction, testing, and commissioning
- Ensure compliance with telecom standards and quality requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
- 3–7 years experience in OSP fiber network design
- Proven FTTH / GPON / XGS-PON project experience
- Strong knowledge of underground, aerial, and HDD deployments
Technical Skills
- AutoCAD, QGIS/ArcGIS or similar OSP design tools
- Fiber planning, splice design, splitter ratios, and capacity planning
- Solid understanding of fiber optic standards and materials
