Job Summary

We are looking for a Commercial Lead (Head of Unit) who will serve as the engine behind our growth agenda, someone who can spot opportunities, shape winning bids, and build the kind of client relationships that drive long-term value

Role Description

Lead GIDI CIVIL’s commercial growth agenda by originating opportunities, managing strategic client relationships, improving bid quality, and ensuring the company wins profitable work aligned with delivery capability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the company’s business development and market penetration strategy.
  • Build and maintain a healthy opportunity pipeline across target segments.
  • Lead structured bid / no-bid assessments based on fit, viability, and risk.
  • Oversee high-quality proposals, tenders, capability statements, and submissions.
  • Build and manage senior client, consultant, and partner relationships.
  • Guide brand positioning, market visibility, and commercial intelligence reporting.

    What Success Looks Like

  • Contribute to active bids within 60–90 days
  • Demonstrate ability to improve bid competitiveness
  • Play a role in securing projects within 3–6 months
  • Build a track record of revenue contribution and commercial impact

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • BSc in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field.
  • 6–10 years of relevant experience, preferably in construction/real estate.
  • Strong understanding of contracts, pricing, client negotiation, proposal writing, and tender documentation.
  • Strong commercial writing, communication, and relationship-management skills.
