Job Summary

  • We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Ink Matcher / Ink Technician to join our production team.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, formulating, and matching inks to customer specifications while ensuring color consistency, print quality, and production efficiency.
  • The ideal candidate should possess hands-on experience in flexible packaging, gravure or flexographic printing environments and have a strong understanding of ink systems, color management, and quality control processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate, mix, and match inks according to customer requirements and production specifications.
  • Ensure accurate color matching using approved standards, Pantone references, and customer samples.
  • Monitor and adjust ink viscosity, density, and other technical parameters to achieve optimal print quality.
  • Support printing operations by ensuring timely availability of inks for production.
  • Conduct color verification and quality checks throughout the production process.
  • Troubleshoot color inconsistencies and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain detailed records of ink formulations, batch numbers, and color recipes.
  • Manage ink inventory and ensure proper storage and handling of inks, solvents, and additives.
  • Collaborate with Printing Operators, Production Supervisors, and Quality Control personnel to resolve production issues.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
  • Minimize ink wastage and contribute to cost optimization initiatives.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects aimed at enhancing print quality and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • OND, HND, or Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Printing Technology, or a related discipline.
  • 3–5 years’ experience as an Ink Matcher, Ink Technician, Colorist, or related role within a flexible packaging, printing, or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with gravure and/or flexographic printing processes is required.
  • Hands-on experience with solvent-based and water-based ink systems.
  • Familiarity with flexible packaging substrates such as BOPP, PET, PE, CPP, and Foil materials.
  • Strong knowledge of color theory, ink formulation, and color matching techniques.
  • Excellent color vision and attention to detail.
  • Ability to use color measurement and quality control tools.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

  • The successful candidates will be responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining printing and lamination machines to ensure the production of high-quality packaging materials that meet customer specifications and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor gravure printing and lamination machines efficiently and safely.
  • Set up machines according to production requirements and job specifications.
  • Ensure consistent print quality, color accuracy, and proper registration throughout production runs.
  • Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to optimize output.
  • Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance of equipment.
  • Identify and troubleshoot printing and lamination defects.
  • Ensure adherence to quality, safety, and production standards.
  • Minimize material waste and machine downtime.
  • Maintain accurate production records and reports.
  • Collaborate with quality control and maintenance teams to achieve operational targets.

Requirements

  • Minimum of OND, Technical Certificate, Trade Test, or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience operating printing and/or lamination machines within a flexible packaging manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with Rotogravure, Flexographic, Solvent-Based, or Solventless Lamination processes is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with packaging substrates such as BOPP, PET, PE, CPP, and Foil materials.
  • Strong technical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to interpret production specifications and quality requirements.
