Heavy Machinery Equipment Trainer
About the Role
- We are recruiting a Heavy Machinery Equipment Trainer to join a railway construction project in Nigeria.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for training local operators, ensuring the correct use, safe operation and basic maintenance of heavy machinery used in the project.
Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver theoretical and practical training sessions on the operation of heavy machinery (e.g. excavators, bulldozers, loaders, motor graders, dumpers, among others);
- Ensure that all trainees understand and apply safety standards and operating procedures;
- Assess the performance of operators and identify additional training needs;
- Prepare training reports, assessment forms and attendance records;
- Ensure the correct use of equipment during training and report any anomalies;
- Collaborate with the HSE and Operations teams to align working methods and best practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a heavy machinery operator or technician, with a strong practical component;
- Previous experience as a trainer will be valued;
- Solid knowledge of operational safety and basic equipment maintenance;
- Ability to communicate and teach clearly and practically;
- Availability to work in Nigeria on a rotational basis;
- Fluency in English (preferred).
