Surveyor
Job Summary
- We are seeking a skilled and versatile Land & Hydrographic Surveyor to support both terrestrial and marine surveying operations.
- The ideal candidate will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting spatial data across land and water environments to support engineering, construction, dredging, and offshore projects.
- This role requires a strong understanding of both land-based and hydrographic survey techniques, as well as the ability to work in diverse field conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct land surveys including topographical, boundary, and construction layout surveys
- Perform hydrographic surveys including bathymetric data collection and water depth measurements
- Operate and maintain surveying equipment such as total stations, GPS, echo sounders, and sonar systems
- Process and analyze survey data using appropriate software
- Produce accurate maps, charts, and survey reports
- Set out control points and reference markers for projects
- Ensure all survey activities comply with regulatory and safety standards
- Collaborate with engineers, marine crews, and project teams
- Monitor and update survey data throughout project lifecycle
- Support dredging, offshore, and coastal engineering projects where required
Required Skill:
- Strong knowledge of both land and hydrographic surveying principles
- Proficiency in survey equipment (GPS, total station, echo sounders, sonar)
- Experience with software such as AutoCAD, GIS, and hydrographic processing tools (e.g., HYPACK, QINSy)
- Good understanding of coordinate systems and geodetic principles
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work in challenging environments (on land and water)
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Geomatics /Survey
Experience:
- Minimum of 3–5 years experience in both land and hydrographic surveying
Other Requirements:
- Willingness to travel and work on offshore or marine sites
- Physically fit and comfortable working on boats and in outdoor conditions
- Strong commitment to safety and quality standards
