Senior Medical Officer

Job Summary

  • The Medical Officer is responsible for providing primary healthcare services, managing wellbeing clinic, and ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety standards.
  • This role supports the organization’s health objectives by delivering preventive care, medical consultations, and emergency response.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough medical assessments and examinations of patients.
  • Diagnose and treat various medical conditions, injuries, and illnesses.
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans for patients.
  • Prescribe medications and monitor patient responses.
  • Perform basic medical and surgical procedures as required.
  • Educate patients and their families about medical conditions and treatments.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all patients.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care.
  • Stay informed about current medical best practices and treatments.
  • Perform or treat basic medical and surgical emergencies.
  • Understand use of point-of-care diagnostic tools such as STAT devices and ECG machines.
  • Ensure a team-based approach to treatment of complex cases.
  • Write detailed medical reports and discharge summaries.
  • Offer critical medical services.
  • Attend to wellbeing clinic as assigned.
  • Adhere to medical protocols, standards, and regulations.
  • Perform other applicable tasks as designed by the team lead and Medical Director.

Requirements

  • Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
  • Evidence of having completed NYSC is mandatory.
  • 5 – 7 years clinical experience
  • Valid license to practice medicine.
  • Strong clinical and diagnostic skills.
  • Must be competent in advanced life support skills.
  • Must be computer literate. · Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Empathy and compassion toward patients.
