Senior Medical Officer
Job Summary
- The Medical Officer is responsible for providing primary healthcare services, managing wellbeing clinic, and ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety standards.
- This role supports the organization’s health objectives by delivering preventive care, medical consultations, and emergency response.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough medical assessments and examinations of patients.
- Diagnose and treat various medical conditions, injuries, and illnesses.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans for patients.
- Prescribe medications and monitor patient responses.
- Perform basic medical and surgical procedures as required.
- Educate patients and their families about medical conditions and treatments.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all patients.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care.
- Stay informed about current medical best practices and treatments.
- Perform or treat basic medical and surgical emergencies.
- Understand use of point-of-care diagnostic tools such as STAT devices and ECG machines.
- Ensure a team-based approach to treatment of complex cases.
- Write detailed medical reports and discharge summaries.
- Offer critical medical services.
- Attend to wellbeing clinic as assigned.
- Adhere to medical protocols, standards, and regulations.
- Perform other applicable tasks as designed by the team lead and Medical Director.
Requirements
- Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
- Evidence of having completed NYSC is mandatory.
- 5 – 7 years clinical experience
- Valid license to practice medicine.
- Strong clinical and diagnostic skills.
- Must be competent in advanced life support skills.
- Must be computer literate. · Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Empathy and compassion toward patients.
