Head of Projects & Asset Management

Job Summary

The Head of Projects & Asset Management is responsible for providing strategic leadership and end-to-end oversight of engineering, construction, and asset management activities. The role focuses on delivering projects efficiently within scope, budget, and timelines while optimizing asset performance, ensuring operational reliability, and maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering and construction projects.
  • Develop project strategies, execution plans, and schedules to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Oversee asset management frameworks to optimize performance, reliability, and lifecycle of assets.
  • Monitor project budgets and expenditures, implementing effective cost control measures.
  • Manage contractor selection, negotiations, and performance evaluation.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, health, safety, environmental, and operational standards.
  • Provide leadership and direction to project and asset management teams.
  • Identify project risks and provide strategic recommendations to senior management.
  • Prepare and present periodic project performance and progress reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional membership with relevant engineering bodies.
  • PMP certification or equivalent project management qualification (added advantage).
  • 12–15 years’ experience in engineering, construction, or project management within the oil and gas industry.
  • Proven track record of delivering large-scale engineering or infrastructure projects end-to-end.
  • Strong knowledge of project lifecycle management and industry regulations.
  • Demonstrated leadership and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project, Primavera, AutoCAD, or similar.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
