Execuutive Driver
Report To: Managing Director/Executive Director/Head of Administration
Job Summary
The Executive Driver is responsible for providing safe, reliable, discreet, and professional transportation services to the Company\’s Managing Director, Executives, and other authorized personnel. The role requires maintaining the assigned vehicle in excellent condition, ensuring punctuality, safeguarding confidential information, and demonstrating exceptional professionalism at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport the Managing Director, Executives, and other authorized personnel to and from official meetings, business engagements and other approved destinations.
- Plan efficient travel routes to ensure timely arrivals while avoiding unnecessary delays.
- Possess excellent knowledge of Onitsha, its environs, and major road networks across the South-East region, including Anambra, Enugu, Imo, Abia, and Ebonyi States.
- Be familiar with alternative routes to avoid traffic congestion, road closures, and security challenges.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the assigned vehicle is in excellent mechanical condition.
- Keep the assigned vehicle clean, fuelled, serviced, and presentable at all times.
- Monitor routine maintenance schedules and promptly report any mechanical faults or repair requirements.
- Ensure all vehicle documents, licences, insurance certificates, and roadworthiness documents remain valid and available.
- Strictly comply with all road traffic laws, road signs, speed limits, and company policies.
- Exercise defensive driving techniques and maintain a high standard of safety.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding the Executive\’s movements, conversations, schedules, and company information.
- Assist with loading and unloading of personal or official luggage and documents where necessary.
- Run official errands and deliver confidential documents as assigned.
- Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel purchases, maintenance activities, and official trips.
- Remain courteous, respectful, and professionally dressed while on duty.
- Be available to work beyond normal office hours, including weekends, public holidays, and out-of-town trips when required.
- Immediately report accidents, traffic violations, security incidents, or emergencies to Management.
- Perform any other lawful duties assigned by Management.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE/WAEC/NECO) or its equivalent.
- Minimum of five (5) years\’ proven experience as an Executive Driver, Personal Driver, or Private Chauffeur to senior executives or high-profile individuals.
- Valid Nigerian Driver\’s Licence with an excellent driving record.
- Excellent knowledge of Onitsha, Anambra State, and the South-East region, with the ability to navigate efficiently without over-reliance on GPS.
- Good understanding of road signs, traffic regulations, and defensive driving techniques.
- Ability to maintain executive vehicles in excellent condition through routine inspections and preventive maintenance.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle troubleshooting and the ability to identify mechanical issues early.
- Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate in English; knowledge of Igbo is an added advantage.
- High level of integrity, honesty, discretion, and confidentiality.
- Well-groomed, courteous, calm, and professional in appearance and conduct.
- Strong time management, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Physically and medically fit to drive for extended periods and undertake interstate travel.
- Must have no criminal record or history of reckless driving, substance abuse, or major traffic offences.
- Must successfully pass the company\’s driving assessment, background verification, reference checks, and medical fitness examination before employment.
