Summary
- We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Yoruba Teacher to teach students how to read, write, speak, and understand the Yoruba language language while promoting appreciation for Yoruba culture traditions, literature, and values.
- The ideal candidate will create engaging lesson plans, assess student progress, and help learners develop strong communication skills in Yoruba.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver effective Yoruba language lessons aligned with the school curriculum.
- Teach students Yoruba grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, reading, and writing skills.
- Introduce learners to Yoruba history, customs, proverbs, literature, and cultural practices.
- Prepare lesson notes, instructional materials, assignments, and examinations.
- Assess and monitor students’ academic progress through tests, quizzes, and class activities.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance.
- Encourage classroom participation and create an inclusive learning environment.
- Organize cultural events, language clubs, debates, and drama presentations related to Yoruba heritage.
- Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student progress when necessary.
- Stay updated on teaching strategies and curriculum changes.
Qualifications
- Interested candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree with 3 – 4 years experience.
