Powerplant Technician – Agbara
Roles & Responsibilities
- Minimises production wastages by ensuring there are no power failures.
- Ensures efficient and uninterrupted power generation for GZl’s consumption.
- Performs routine checks and investigations on the generators.
- Troubleshoots, maintains and repairs the generators.
- Ensures the generator plants are run at optimum performance.
- Maintains 0% downtime of the generators.
- Monitors GZl’s Diesel and LPG consumption. Ensures Diesel and LPG levels are checked on an hourly basis.
- Troubleshoots and repairs faults and defects on the hot water line, chiller, cooling tower fans, and water pumps.
- Services Gas Engine and Diesel Engine Generators.
- This includes draining and changing engine Oil, changing Oil filters, changing and cleaning air filters, etc.
- Receives LPG and Diesel from suppliers.
- Monitors and records Engine parameter values.
- Carries out all tasks and activities in compliance with all the applicable Health, Safety and Environmental regulations.
- Adheres strictly to HSE regulations by ensuring PPE and safety tools provided are used at all times.
- Documents, implements and maintains the requirements of the Quality, Food Safety, Environment, Health and Safety management systems.
Required Education/ Qualification
- Minimum of a First Degree or HND in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years’ relevant work experience, in a similar role within the manufacturing industry.
- Demonstrable experience in carrying out electrical maintenance.
