About the job
- The ideal candidate will leverage data-driven insights to manage fuel consumption, oversee preventative maintenance schedules, and lead a team of drivers and technicians. You will be responsible for balancing budget constraints with the need for high-performance vehicle availability, ensuring that the fleet functions as a high-value asset rather than a liability.
Key Responsibilities
- Vehicle Tracking & Monitoring: Develop and maintain systems for vehicle tracking to enhance fleet management and operational efficiency.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor fleet performance metrics to optimize operations, reduce costs, and improve utilization.
- Compliance & Integrity: Ensure fleet compliance with legal, regulatory, and organizational requirements.
- Fleet Records Management: Maintain accurate fleet records for transparency, accountability, and operational efficiency.
- Reporting & Documentation: Prepare comprehensive reports on fleet operations to support management decision-making.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with internal teams to address fleet needs and provide training on fleet-related processes.
- Budgeting & Cost Efficiency: Manage budgets for fleet operations, identifying and implementing cost-saving measures.
- Vendor Management: Oversee contracts and relationships with vehicle suppliers, maintenance providers, and other service vendors.
- Safety & Training: Develop and enforce safety protocols, and organize training programs for drivers and fleet staff.
- Optimization & Strategy Implementation: Implement strategies to enhance fleet efficiency, leveraging performance insights and industry best practices.
Job Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transport Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years’ proven experience in fleet management or transport operations.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of fleet management systems and vehicle tracking technologies.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Knowledge:
- Understanding of transport regulations, compliance standards, and safety protocols.
- Familiarity with budgeting and cost control in fleet operations.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to lead and train teams effectively.
Other Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license.
- Willingness to travel or work flexible hours when required.
