Key Responsibilities:
Fleet Maintenance Oversight
- Supervise preventive and corrective maintenance of all vehicles.
- Ensure adherence to maintenance schedules and service timelines.
- Monitor vehicle health and proactively address mechanical issues.
Workshop Operations Management
- Oversee workshop activities, mechanics, and technicians.
- Ensure proper diagnosis, repair quality, and turnaround time.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and safety in the workshop.
Vehicle Uptime & Availability
- Ensure maximum fleet availability to support operations.
- Track and reduce vehicle downtime.
- Escalate critical issues affecting operations promptly.
Cost Control & Efficiency
- Monitor maintenance expenses and ensure cost-effective repairs.
- Prevent unnecessary replacements and reduce wastage.
- Track fuel efficiency trends and flag abnormalities.
Vendor & Spare Parts Management
- Liaise with external vendors and service providers.
- Ensure timely availability of spare parts and consumables.
- Validate quality of parts and services provided.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure all vehicles meet regulatory and safety standards.
- Maintain proper documentation (service records, inspection logs).
- Enforce safety procedures within the workshop.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance reports.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, servicing, and costs.
- Use fleet management systems for tracking and reporting.
Team Leadership
- Supervise, train, and manage maintenance staff.
- Assign tasks and monitor performance.
- Promote discipline, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree / HND in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 3–6 years of experience in fleet maintenance (logistics industry preferred)
- Strong knowledge of vehicle systems (diesel engines, trucks, vans)
- Experience managing workshop operations and technicians

Method of Application
Key Responsibilities:
Daily Fleet Deployment
- Supervise daily allocation of bikes, vans, and trucks for delivery operations.
- Ensure all vehicles are dispatched on time to meet delivery schedules.
- Confirm availability of drivers/riders before start of operations.
Real-Time Operations Monitoring
- Track ongoing deliveries and fleet movement using GPS/telematics systems.
- Identify delays, route issues, or breakdowns and escalate promptly.
- Provide immediate solutions to ensure minimal disruption to deliveries.
Drivers & Riders Supervision
- Monitor attendance, punctuality, and readiness of drivers/riders.
- Enforce discipline, adherence to routes, and operational guidelines.
- Address behavioural or performance issues at the ground level.
Fleet Utilisation & Efficiency
- Ensure optimal use of available vehicles with minimal idle time.
- Support route optimisation and proper load allocation.
- Track daily productivity (deliveries per rider/driver).
Basic Maintenance Coordination
- Conduct daily vehicle checks (roadworthiness, fuel levels, basic condition).
- Report faults and coordinate repairs with the maintenance team.
- Ensure faulty vehicles are not deployed for operations.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all drivers/riders comply with safety regulations and company policies.
- Confirm that all vehicles have valid documentation before deployment.
- Report and document accidents/incidents.
Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain accurate daily logs (vehicle usage, fuel, incidents, attendance).
- Prepare and submit daily operational reports to the Fleet Operations Manager.
- Track and report key operational issues and trends.
Coordination with Hub & Operations Teams
- Work closely with hub/gateway teams to align dispatch schedules.
- Ensure timely loading and departure of vehicles.
- Support resolution of delivery-related issues impacting customers.
Qualifications & Experience:
- HND/Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transport Management, or related field.
- 3–5 years’ experience in logistics, fleet, or transport operations.
- Experience supervising drivers/riders in a fast-paced environment.
