Head of Risk & Internal Audit at Amaanah Non-Interest Finance Company Limited – Apply Now

Head of Risk & Internal Audit

  • Own the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework and the Risk Appetite Statement, recommending both to the Board annually through the Risk Management Committee.
  • Identify, assess, monitor, and report on the firm’s principal risks: credit, market, liquidity, operational, conduct, technology, regulatory, reputational, strategic, and Sharia-compliance risk.
  • Oversee special reviews, fraud-risk assessments, and investigations; report all material findings directly to the Audit Committee.
  • Track audit findings to closure, monitor management’s remediation, and report ageing and repeat findings to the Audit Committee quarterly.
  • Partner with the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) on AML/CFT, Approved Persons, conduct, and consumer-protection compliance; ensure risk-function visibility into compliance breaches and remediation.
  • Monitor regulatory developments from the CBN, SEC, NDIC, NFIU, and other applicable regulators; advise the executive and the Board on implications for the firm’s risk profile.
  • Present quarterly risk and audit reports to the Risk Management Committee and the Audit Committee, with material matters escalated to the full Board.
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing Risk & Audit team — structured to preserve operational separation between the risk and audit sub-functions.
  • Drive a risk-aware culture across the firm; act as a trusted advisor and challenger to executive peers without becoming a blocker to legitimate business agility.
