Financial Controller
Overview
- The Financial Controller will manage the Finance and Accounting functions of the company to ensure the promptness, integrity and reliability of financial information and data.
- He/she will provide business support to the Group Head Finance and Business heads in accounting functions including Treasury, Reporting, Planning, Forecasting, Budgeting and Analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage financial statements, income statements, and other regular financial reports.
- Oversee annual budgeting process for the Company and ensure efficient monitoring, control and feedback of same.
- Oversee daily accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Develop and enforce internal controls to ensure financial accuracy and prevent fraud.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, assess financial health, and recommend improvements to senior management.
- Contribute to the strategic and day-to-day commercial decision-making process.
- Provide analytical and strategic support to the Group Head Finance and business heads or strategic decision making.
- Provide timely and accurate management accounts and to allow the business to accurately monitor performance on a continual basis.
- Efficient cash flow management that ensures funding requirements are met without borrowings and debtor/creditor days are reduced to achieve budget and increase investment income.
- Institution of processes to achieve Revenue Assurance & cost efficiencies.
- Ensure all financial matters, including preparation of annual accounts are undertaken in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, the group’s accounting policies and all other applicable regulatory guidelines.
Qualifications
- B.Sc Degree in Accounting or any related field.
- Professional certifications: ICAN, CIMA, ACCA qualifications are required.
- Minimum of 10 years work experience in a senior financial management and administration position
- Experience in the healthcare sector will be an advantage.
Competencies:
- Strong financial and business management capabilities, versatility in financial accounting, analysis and modelling and treasury skills
- Financial management skills – ability to analyze P&L statements, develop operating budgets, forecasting and capital expenditure planning.
- Exposure to financial modelling with multi-year modelling, quarterly forecasting and compliance with generally acceptable accounting principles.
