Fabricator
Responsibilities
- Review technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to determine the requirements for metal fabrication projects.
- Cut, bend, and shape metal components using a range of fabrication equipment such as saws, lathes, drill presses, and grinders.
- Weld or join metal components together using various techniques and methods, including MIG, TIG, and ARC welding.
- Assemble and construct metal products, ensuring that the final product is accurate, functional, and meets the required specifications.
- Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet safety and quality standards.
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Regularly maintain and clean all metal fabrication tools, equipment, and machinery used in the workshop.
- Collaborate with team members, including designers, engineers, and project managers, to ensure project deadlines and objectives are met.
- Continuously develop knowledge of industry trends and advancements in metal fabrication techniques.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Fabricator or a similar role in a manufacturing/fabrication environment
- Strong technical knowledge of metal fabrication techniques, tools, and machinery
- Excellent ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
- Able to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and work in a variety of physical positions
- Expertise in welding techniques and procedures, including MIG, TIG, and ARC
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot any issues that may arise during the fabrication process
- Excellent communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineers, designers, and project managers
- Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to new technologies and trends in the industry
- High school diploma or equivalent; a certification in metal fabrication or a related field is a plus.
