Job description

• Deliver structured, systematic phonics lessons daily.
• Teach letter sounds, blending, segmenting, decoding, and encoding skills.
• Support early reading, spelling, and handwriting development.
• Prepare weekly lesson plans aligned with learning objectives.
• Use engaging teaching aids, games, and activities to reinforce learning.
• Identify emerging learners and provide targeted interventions.
• Assess and track pupils’ reading progress regularly.
• Maintain an organized, print-rich, and stimulating classroom environment.
• Collaborate with class teachers and parents to support learners’ progress.

Requirements:

• Minimum of NCE/B.Ed in Early Childhood Education, English, or related field.
• Must have completed NYSC.
• Proven experience teaching phonics in a preschool or primary school.
• Strong understanding of Jolly Phonics or other systematic phonics programs.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Patient, creative, and enthusiastic about early literacy development.
• Ability to work effectively within a team.
