ETO Operations & Compliance Officer (Port Logistics)
Role Overview
- We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced ETO Operations & Compliance Officer to manage all truck activities on the ETO (Electronic Truck Call-Up) platform.
- The ideal candidate will be responsible for end-to-end system handling – from truck registration and call-up processing to monitoring, compliance, and decommissioning of trucks upon contract completion.
- This role is critical to ensuring seamless port access, reduced turnaround time, and full compliance with Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) requirements.
Key Responsibilities
ETO System Management:
- Manage end-to-end operations on the ETO platform, including:
- Truck and driver registration
- Profile updates and documentation uploads
- Booking and scheduling of call-up slots
- Ensure accurate and timely entry of data into the system.
Call-Up & Truck Coordination:
- Process and monitor truck call-up requests in line with operational schedules.
- Coordinate truck movements from approved parks/holding bays to port terminals.
- Ensure trucks comply with assigned time slots to avoid penalties or delays.
Truck Decommissioning & System Updates:
- Properly decommission trucks on the ETO platform when:
- Contracts are concluded
- Trucks are no longer active in operations
- Maintain updated records of active and inactive fleet on the system.
Compliance & Monitoring:
- Ensure all trucks meet ETO compliance requirements before scheduling.
- Monitor truck status from pre-gate to exit and track turnaround times.
- Identify and escalate delays, discrepancies, or system issues.
Operational Support:
- Work closely with:
- Fleet Managers
- Tracking Officers
- Drivers
- Port agents and terminal operators
- Provide real-time updates on truck movements and operational status.
Reporting & Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of:
- Call-up bookings
- Truck movements
- Completed and pending trips
- Prepare daily/weekly reports on:
- Turnaround time
- Compliance levels
- System-related issues
Requirements
- Minimum of OND / HND / B.Sc. in Logistics, Transport Management, or related field
- Minimum 2–5 years’ hands-on experience using the ETO platform
- Proven ability to manage:
- Truck registration
- Call-up scheduling
- Truck deactivation/decommissioning
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of port operations (Apapa, Tin Can, or related)
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong coordination and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced logistics environment
- Good communication and reporting skills
Location Requirement:
- Candidates must be based in Port Harcourt or be willing to relocate to Port Harco
The ideal candidate:
- Has practical, hands-on experience using the ETO system (not theoretical knowledge)
- Understands port logistics workflow end-to-end
- Can independently manage truck scheduling and compliance
- Is proactive, responsive, and highly accountable.
