Completions Project Engineer

Job Purpose:

Weatherford have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Completions Project Engineer to join the team in Lagos, Nigeria.

The Completions Project Engineer will support project execution tasks for production optimization projects for our domestic and international oil and gas customers such that they are completed on time and within budgets. Provide technical guidance and quality checks on the work performed by junior engineers. 

Responsibilities:

Operations

  • Provide technical inputs to marketing, R&D, documentation services, QA and product engineers based on customer interaction feedback and suggestions on product enhancements. 
  • To support the management of the project to ensure that project objectives are achieved within time/cost/quality constraints, whilst managing stakeholder expectations. 
  • To support management to ensure the technical requirements per customer specifications are met by our solution. Propose technical solutions on the non-compliant requirements.
  • To support management on capturing the inputs required for progress reports on engineering and software development efforts. 
  • Responsible for providing overall technical support for configuration development, FAT, iFAT, SAT and commissioning efforts. 
  • Expectation to work regularly from the client’s office, maintaining a visible and engaged presence with key stakeholders and teams.

  • Maintains service quality as immediate priorities when working across all areas of the business and continually seeks areas for improvement.

  • Maintains effective communications with all key stakeholders both internal and where appropriate external.
  • New Technology developments.

Financial

  • All employees have an accountability to the organization to be financially responsible whether they are in charge of a function budget or simply their own expenses. 
  • Costs incurred should be within approved budget, processed within agreed time frames and following the relevant financial policy and procedure. 
  • Technical writer Completion tenders. 
  • To support project execution tasks for automation projects such that they are completed on time and within budgets. Provide technical guidance and quality checks on the work performed by junior engineers. 

People & Development

  • Employees have a responsibility for developing their own careers within the Company including completing all necessary function, compliance and business standards training to enhance their knowledge, skills and experience.

Experience & Education Required:

  • Bachelors, preferably Master’s degree in Science and Technology.
  • 7+ years of Completions experience.
  • Previous experience of dealing with major Clients in the Nigeria Oil & Gas market.
  • Well versed in Microsoft Office Suite – Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, Project, Visio, Teams etc. 
  • Excellent Well Completion understanding and knowledge.
  • Strong technical knowledge of the Oil & Gas industry. 
  • Detailed.
