Audit Manager
Role Description
- The Audit Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Port Harcourt, responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing internal audit activities across the bank. The role involves designing audit plans, reviewing financial and operational processes, and ensuring compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
- The Audit Manager will review financial statements, conduct risk assessments, evaluate internal controls, and identify gaps or weaknesses that could impact the bank’s financial integrity or operational efficiency.
- This position also prepares clear audit reports, presents findings and recommendations to senior management, and follows up on remediation actions.
- The Audit Manager will collaborate closely with finance, operations, risk, and compliance teams, while mentoring audit staff and promoting a strong culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Strong Finance and Accounting skills, with the ability to interpret and apply relevant financial principles and standards.
- Proficiency in reviewing and analyzing Financial Statements to assess accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Demonstrated experience conducting Financial Audits, including planning, fieldwork, reporting, and follow-up.
- Advanced Analytical Skills, with the ability to identify trends, assess risks, and propose practical, data-driven recommendations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a professional certification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIA) is highly desirable.
- Proven experience in internal audit or external audit, preferably within financial services or microfinance.
- Strong knowledge of internal controls, risk management, and regulatory requirements applicable to financial institutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear reports and present findings to stakeholders.
- High ethical standards, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team in an on-site environment.
