Commercial & Proposal Engineer

Role Summary

The Proposal Engineer will support the Commercial Operations team in the technical and commercial development of solar EPC, Energy-as-a-Service (EaaS), mini-grid, and power infrastructure proposals. This role combines engineering support, proposal writing, system sizing, commercial analysis, and tender documentation.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Proposal Development

  • Support the design and sizing of solar PV, battery storage, and hybrid systems.
  • Interpret load profiles and Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
  • Prepare technical solution concepts.
  • Commercial & Financial Support
  • Prepare cost estimates, pricing sheets, and financial models (ROI/payback).
  • Coordinate vendor sourcing and pricing validation.
  • Assist with margin analysis.

Tender & Documentation Management

  • Prepare RFQ/RFP responses and bid documentation.
  • Maintain proposal templates and supporting documentation.
  • Support post-award project handovers.

Coordination

  • Work closely with sales, engineering, and procurement teams.
  • Participate in technical clarification meetings.
  • Coordinate with OEMs and technical partners.

Qualifications

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Energy Engineering with a strong background in Electrical Engineering, system design, and technical analysis for renewable energy projects. 
  • 2–5 years of experience in solar EPC, power systems, or proposal engineering. 
  • Strong understanding of Solar PV, BESS, inverters, and electrical distribution. 
  • Proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets, and PowerPoint. 
  • AutoCAD and Helioscope/PVsyst proficiency is an added advantage. 
  • Proficiency in proposal preparation and proposal writing to develop detailed and competitive technical and commercial documents. 
  • Experience in sales, with the ability to collaborate with teams and tailor solutions to meet customer needs. 
  • Knowledge of procurement processes and cost management for project materials. 
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 
  • Familiarity with renewable energy systems and industry standards is an advantage. 

Compensation & Benefits

  • Net salary range of ₦300,000 – ₦350,000
  • HMO
  • Pension
  • 13th month salary
