Benching Officer
Job Description
- We are looking to hire a Benching Officer who will provide operational support to the Engineering department by selecting and sourcing appropriate materials depending on laboratory project needs.
- Working with various benching materials like epoxy resin, phenolic, trespa and corian to build and repair structures and other items.
- Taking site measurements, creating designs, preparing quotes, and grant charts for remodeling Laboratory projects.
Job Responsibilities
- Installation of benching materials such as benching top, frames, rafters, partitions and joists.
- Designing and installing cabinets, shelving, fitted furniture, drywall and insulation.
- Adding fixtures and fittings such as door handles, locks, hinges and closures.
- Selecting lumber by size and strength to suit each job, sourcing materials to suit the customer’s budget and style.
- Calculating the number of fasteners required for each job.
- Liaising with clients, suppliers, and other construction professionals.
Requirements
Academic Qualifications:
- HND, ND or NCE(Minimum of Upper Credit) in Woodwork or any related field.
Working Experience:
Minimum of two (2) years relevant work experience in:
- A laboratory environment.
- Benching Related Roles.
Skills:
- Good working knowledge of computers in general with proficiency in the MS Office Suite.
- Good communication skills – written & verbal.
- Benching Experience.
- Capentry / Woodwork / Furniture Design.
