Procurement Officer

Overview

  • The Procurement Officer’s key role is sourcing and purchasing raw materials (like polymers), equipment, and services, while ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery.
  • Key duties include supplier evaluation and negotiation, managing contracts and inventory, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • He/She will be in active collaboration with other departments.

Key Responsibilities

Supplier Management:

  • Researching, evaluating, and selecting reliable suppliers to secure goods and services that meet quality standards.
  • Negotiation of contracts, terms, prices, and maintenance of cordial relationships with suppliers.

Procurement Planning:

  • Structure plans for purchasing necessary equipment, services, and supplies to meet the requirements of the organization.
  • Prepare reports on procurement activities, costs, and supplier performance

Inventory and record keeping:

  • Management of all inventories to prevent shortages and coordinate with logistics teams.
  • Maintenance of accurate purchase and pricing records
  • Maintenance of all suppliers’ information.

Budgeting and Costing:

  • Develop and manage procurement budgets.
  • Implementation of cost-savings initiatives without compromising quality.
  • Monitoring and controlling procurement costs against the budget.
  • Performing cost analysis and reporting.

Logistics:

  • Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams on timely delivery of purchased items and services to the organization.

Risk Management:

  • Anticipating and mitigating potential risks in the supply chain process.
  • Ensure all purchases comply with organizational policies and industry standards
  • Analyze market trends to make informed purchasing decisions and stay ahead of fluctuations.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Admin, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Procurement in the Manufacturing industry is mandatory.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Analytical skills and the ability to understand market trends and manage risk.
  • Knowledge of procurement policies, contract management, and inventory control.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills
  • Candidate must be able to use MS Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc., and ERP
  • Attention to detail and a strong sense of integrity.
