Job Summary
- The General Manager is responsible for the end-to-end operational direction and profitable management of the organization’s packaged food business.
- This includes new factory setup and operations, product quality and regulatory compliance, market entry, customer acquisition, capability development, and full P&L ownership.
- The role holder will lead the strategy, execution and scaling of packaged food products (e.g. packaged ice cream and snacks, etc), ensuring commercial viability, food safety excellence, strong brand reputation and sustainable growth.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Own and deliver the full P&L performance of the packaged foods division, including revenue growth, cost control and profitability.
- Develop and execute the business plan, budgets and growth strategy for the division.
- Drive disciplined financial management across production, logistics and sales operations.
- Lead the setup, commissioning and scaling of food production facilities, including layout, equipment selection and production planning.
- Establish efficient production processes that optimize yield, cost, quality and capacity utilization.
- Oversee preventive maintenance, production scheduling and operational efficiency.
- Ensure consistent product quality, food safety and adherence to GMP, HACCP and relevant standards.
- Put in place robust quality assurance, quality control and traceability systems across the value chain.
- Drive continuous improvement in product formulation, shelf life and packaging integrity.
- Lead engagement with and compliance to all relevant regulatory bodies responsible for food production and manufacturing.
- Ensure all permits, certifications, inspections and statutory approvals are obtained and maintained without disruption to operations.
- Proactively manage regulatory risk and audit readiness.
- Drive customer acquisition, retention and channel expansion across retail, wholesale and distribution partners.
- Develop pricing, go‑to‑market and route‑to‑market strategies that support margin and scale.
- Champion brand presence, product penetration and market share growth.

Education and Experience required
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Food Science, Manufacturing or related discipline.
- Minimum 12–15+ years’ experience in packaged food manufacturing, FMCG or related consumer goods business.
- Proven experience with full P&L ownership and scaling a manufacturing‑led business.
- Demonstrated experience setting up or expanding food production facilities (strongly desirable).
- Hands‑on experience dealing with food regulatory bodies and compliance frameworks.
- Track record of leading growth in a similar industry or company.
