Finance Analyst – Lead

Position Summary

  • The Finance Lead is responsible for the financial health, reporting accuracy, and strategic financial planning of Herbal Goodness. This role oversees accounting, financial analysis, budgeting, cash flow management, and internal controls, while providing leadership with clear financial visibility to support decision-making and long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Accounting

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
  • Maintain accurate and clean books in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
  • Oversee chart of accounts, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end closing.
  • Maintain fixed asset register and depreciation schedules.
  • Ensure accurate cost of goods sold (COGS), vendor mapping, and product financial data.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Planning

  • Develop and maintain annual and quarterly budgets by department.
  • Monitor actual performance versus budget and conduct variance analysis.
  • Develop financial forecasts and support long-term strategic planning.
  • Support development of the company’s multi-year growth plan.

Cash Flow & Treasury Management

  • Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly cash flow.
  • Forecast working capital needs and ensure adequate liquidity.
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes.
  • Manage banking relationships and optimize cash management.

Financial Analysis & Business Intelligence

  • Analyze profitability by product, channel, and department.
  • Track financial KPIs and prepare dashboards for leadership.
  • Provide ROI and cost-benefit analysis for investments, hiring, and expansion initiatives.
  • Ensure leadership has clear, timely, and actionable financial visibility.

Compliance, Audit & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax requirements, and company policies.
  • Support tax preparation, filings, and CPA coordination.
  • Maintain audit-ready records and coordinate external audits and reviews.
  • Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies.

Internal Controls & Process Governance

  • Document and maintain SOPs for financial and accounting processes.
  • Ensure adherence to approval workflows and internal controls.
  • Oversee vendor setup approvals and payment controls.
  • Maintain process documentation and checklists to ensure accuracy and consistency.

Procurement & Payment Oversight

  • Review and approve purchase orders and vendor payments within delegated authority.
  • Ensure proper approvals are obtained before payments are processed.

Cost Management & Process Optimization

  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and operational efficiencies.
  • Review expenses and vendor terms to improve margins.
  • Recommend and implement automation and workflow improvements in financial processes.

Strategic Support & Decision-Making

  • Support investment, pricing, and expansion decisions with financial analysis.
  • Prepare financial models and reports for funding or strategic initiatives.
  • Partner with leadership to align financial strategy with business goals.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, and Marketing to align financial planning with business needs.
  • Support campaign budgeting, inventory planning, and procurement forecasting.

Leadership & Team Support

  • Supervise bookkeeping and finance support staff as applicable.
  • Provide training, guidance, and performance oversight.
  • Ensure timely and reliable reporting across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and cash flow management.
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online, ERP knowledge, and financial dashboards. Expert in Excel.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.

Position Overview

  • We are seeking a highly experienced AI Automation & Strategy Lead to drive the company’s end-to-end artificial intelligence, automation, and data strategy.
  • This individual will architect and implement agentic and sub-agent workflows across the organization, build AI-driven systems to improve operational efficiency and reporting, and lead adoption of AI tools and best practices company-wide.
  • This role combines strategy, systems architecture, and hands-on implementation. The successful candidate will play a central role in building our internal technology capabilities and shaping the future of how Herbal Goodness operates.

Key Responsibilities
AI & Automation Strategy:

  • Develop and lead the company’s AI and automation roadmap aligned with business goals.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, improve decision-making, and reduce operational friction through AI.
  • Drive adoption of AI tools and workflows across departments, including training and change management.
  • Establish AI standards, governance frameworks, and playbooks across the organization.

Workflow Design & Implementation:

  • Design and implement agentic and sub-agent workflows across key business processes.
  • Build and maintain automations using platforms such as n8n, Make, Zapier, and Claude Code.
  • Lead business process mapping and redesign initiatives to ensure workflows are optimized prior to automation.

AI Systems, ERP & Reporting:

  • Architect and build AI-driven ERP and operational systems to support workflow automation, reporting, and analytics.
  • Create dashboards and reporting systems to support executive and operational decision-making.
  • Build internal dashboards and reporting pipelines using Looker Studio and related tools.

Data, Databases Tools & Analytics

  • Design and manage structured databases, data environments and reporting pipelines.
  • Work with tools and systems including:
    • Notion databases
    • Snowflake
    • Google BigQuery
    • Looker Studio
  • Develop analytics models and forecasting tools where appropriate.

AI & Agent Infrastructure:

  • Build and maintain advanced AI workflows using:
    • LangChain or LlamaIndex
    • Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines
    • Vector databases such as Pinecone, Weaviate, or Supabase

Automation & Integration:

  • Lead API integrations between internal and external systems.
  • Implement automations using:
    • Webhooks and REST architectures
    • Python scripting for automation
    • Workflow orchestration tools

Infrastructure & Deployment:

  • Support containerized and scalable deployments using Docker or similar tools.
  • Evaluate infrastructure requirements for reliability and scalability of internal tools.

Governance, Security & Ethics:

  • Ensure data integrity, security, and responsible use of AI.
  • Implement access controls, auditability, and accountability in automated systems.

Strategic Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Establish AI standards and operational playbooks across the organization.
  • Evaluate vendors and select best-in-class tools and platforms.
  • Build internal knowledge by training teams and enabling adoption.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:

  • Significant experience in AI automation, workflow orchestration, or systems engineering.

  • Experience evaluating and implementing emerging AI technologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience building reporting dashboards that use Ai for data analytics and synthesis.
  • Background in supply chain, manufacturing, or CPG operations is a plus.
