Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting & Close: Manage month-end and year-end closing procedures, including preparing and reviewing complex journal entries and financial statements.
- Reconciliation & Analysis: Oversee account reconciliations, analyze financial data and trends to support strategic decisions, and maintain accuracy in the general ledger.
- Compliance & Audit: Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal controls, assisting with internal and external audits.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and supervise junior accounting staff, bookkeepers, or assistants.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis to support management decisions.
- Operational Support: Handle complex accounting tasks, including fixed asset accounting, depreciation schedules, and tax reporting.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: Generally 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP and, in some cases, tax regulations (GST, TDS).
- Software Proficiency: Experience with accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills.
- Certifications: ACCA/ACA
