Key Duties and Responsibilities will include:
- Operational Execution: Overseeing the end-to-end parcel flow, including inbound receiving, sorting, staging, and last-mile dispatch.
- Team Leadership: Managing and developing frontline employees (sorters, operators) to maintain high productivity and discipline, including managing shift schedules and attendance.
- Performance Monitoring (KPIs): Tracking throughput, sorting accuracy, and backlog to meet company goals. Driving action plans to address bottlenecks.
- Safety and Compliance: Enforcing standard operating procedures (SOPs), 5S methodology, cycle count and safety regulations to ensure a secure work environment.
- Process Improvement: Identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements and leading projects to enhance performance.
- Coordination: Working with logistics departments to ensure smooth operations and timely deliveries.
- Rider/Driver Coordination: Monitor rider/driver activity, optimize routes, and ensure timely drop-offs to delivery hubs and resolve issues.
- Data & Reporting: Maintain accurate operational databases, track orders, and generate daily/weekly performance reports.
- Item Sorting and Inspection: Manually or mechanically sort through, inspect, and remove damaged, defective, or misdirected items.
- Documentation and Recording: Accurately record quantities, types of materials, and defects identified, maintaining documentation on sorting logs and computer systems.
- Inventory Organization: Organize, label, and pack items into bins for distribution or further processing.
- Safety and Maintenance: Adhere to safety (e.g., 5S standards) and environmental policies, including keeping the work area clean and reporting machine or facility malfunctions.
- Collaboration: Work within a team to meet distribution goals, always communicating with the Operations Manager regarding discrepancies and delays.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Education: A graduate with a degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or related fields. Should have completed NYSC.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- 2–5 years of working experience in logistics, warehousing, courier, or distribution center operations, with prior supervisory experience
- Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office/productivity tools.
- Analytical skills to analyze performance data and identify trends.
- Organizational abilities, and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift to 20kg and stand for long periods, with good physical endurance for manual handling.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with barcode scanners, automated sorting machines, or computer systems is beneficial.
- Attention to Detail: High attention to detail is crucial for identifying defects and ensuring accurate sorting.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel) or Google Sheets is required.
- Availability: Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or long shifts, in a fast-paced environment.
- Work-days: Mondays to Saturdays (6 days a week)

- Process Improvement: Identify areas for operational improvement and implement solutions to increase productivity.
- Customer Support: Resolve delivery issues, handle exceptions, returns, and communicate with customers.
