Job Summary
- A4&T Power Solutions is looking for a skilled, safety‑conscious Lineman to join our renewable‑energy operations team. You will install, maintain, and repair overhead and underground power lines that support solar farms, wind‑power facilities, and distribution networks. The role demands technical expertise, physical stamina, and a strong commitment to safety, reliability, and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation & Construction
- Install, maintain, inspect, and repair overhead and underground power lines for renewable‑energy projects.
- Erect poles, towers, and other line‑support structures in accordance with engineering specifications.
- String, splice, and tension conductors and cables for power transmission and distribution.
- Construct, maintain, and repair transmission‑line components (poles, insulators, transformers, conductors, etc.).
- Live‑Line & De‑Energized Work
- Perform energized (live‑line) and de‑energized line work using approved methods, tools, and PPE.
- Conduct fault isolation, switching operations, and system restoration during outages.
- Troubleshooting & Maintenance
- Diagnose and repair faults on electrical lines and associated equipment.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive‑maintenance tasks to ensure system reliability.
- Assist in planned shutdowns, system upgrades, and preventive‑maintenance campaigns.
- Collaboration & Coordination
- Work closely with engineers, technicians, control‑room operators, and site supervisors to meet project timelines.
- Provide accurate job reports, safety checklists, and maintenance records for supervisors and regulatory bodies.
- Safety & Compliance
- Rigorously follow industry safety regulations, company policies, and LOTO procedures.
- Conduct Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and participate in toolbox talks.
- Respond promptly to plant emergencies, alarms, and abnormal conditions with appropriate corrective actions.
- Emergency Response
- Participate in emergency‑repair and outage response activities, including on‑call or overtime shifts as required.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- High‑school diploma or equivalent.
- Certified Lineman or completion of a recognized electrical/lineman apprenticeship program.
- Proven experience as a lineman, preferably on renewable‑energy or power‑utility projects.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, tools, and line‑construction methods.
- Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying weather conditions.
Certifications (Preferred)
- Experience working on solar, wind, or other renewable‑energy infrastructure.
- First‑Aid, CPR, and electrical‑safety certifications (advantageous).
Skills
- In‑depth knowledge of electrical safety standards and procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- Physical fitness, manual dexterity, and comfort with climbing equipment.

You will be responsible for real‑time monitoring, control, and efficient operation of our renewable generation facility from the central control room, ensuring production targets are met while maintaining the highest standards of safety, reliability, and grid compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Power Plant Operations
- Monitor, operate, and adjust generation equipment (turbines, transformers, circuit breakers, switchgear).
- Serve as the first point of contact for grid‑operator communications and ensure compliance with interconnection requirements.
- Perform routine inspections of mechanical and electrical systems to guarantee safe, efficient operation.
- Record and analyze operational data (voltage, load, pressure, fuel usage).
- Execute start‑up and shut‑down procedures and routine system checks.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow industry safety regulations and company policies at all times.
- Conduct Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), toolbox talks, and adhere to lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Respond to plant emergencies, alarms, and abnormal conditions with appropriate corrective actions.
Performance & Reporting
- Track and report plant availability, production efficiency (PR), and downtime events.
- Identify trends, suggest improvements, and flag recurring issues to Maintenance and Engineering teams.
- Assist with testing and commissioning of new equipment or software updates.

Working Conditions

Required Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field.
- 3–5 years experience in power generation, transmission, or distribution (lineman or plant‑operator background).
- Certifications (preferred/advantageous): NERC Certification, Certified Plant Operator, OSHA Safety.
- Hands‑on experience with HV/MV substation operations and switching procedures.
- Knowledge of predictive‑maintenance platforms and data‑analysis tools.
- Familiarity with relevant grid codes and market operations.
