Drilling Fluid Equipment Technician

  • Are you an experienced Drilling Fluid Equipment Technician with a strong background in maintaining and operating drilling fluid systems? We are seeking a skilled professional to support drilling operations by ensuring the efficient performance, maintenance, and reliability of drilling fluid equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect, operate, and maintain drilling fluid equipment, including mud pumps, shale shakers, desanders, desilters, and centrifuges.
  • Monitor drilling fluid circulation systems to ensure proper flow rates and operating pressure.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components of drilling fluid equipment.
  • Assist with the installation, setup, calibration, and operation of drilling fluid systems on drilling rigs.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment inspections, maintenance activities, repairs, and operational performance.
  • Work closely with drilling fluid engineers and rig personnel to optimize drilling fluid system efficiency.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of drilling fluids in compliance with HSE and environmental regulations.
  • Conduct routine inspections and performance testing of mud cleaning and mixing systems.
  • Strictly follow company safety procedures, wear appropriate PPE, and promote a safe working environment.
  • Report equipment failures, malfunctions, and potential safety hazards to supervisors in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree, HND, or OND in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience maintaining and operating drilling fluid equipment in the oil and gas industry.
  • Strong knowledge of mud systems, solids control equipment, and drilling fluid circulation systems.
  • Experience troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical equipment.
  • Good understanding of preventive maintenance programs and equipment reliability.
  • Knowledge of HSE standards and environmental compliance requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work offshore, on rotational schedules, and in demanding operational environments.
