Vendor Manager
Job Summary
- The Vendor Manager is responsible for sourcing, onboarding, managing, and maintaining strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of quality goods and services at competitive prices.
- The role focuses on performance management, contract compliance, cost control, and risk mitigation.
Responsibilities
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable vendors and suppliers
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, service-level agreements (SLAs), and payment terms
- Manage vendor relationships to ensure consistent quality, delivery, and performance
- Monitor vendor performance using agreed KPIs and resolve issues promptly
- Coordinate with internal departments (Operations, Finance, Procurement, Projects, Customer Service) to align vendor activities with business needs
- Ensure vendors comply with company policies, regulatory requirements, and safety standards
- Review invoices, confirm deliveries, and support timely vendor payments
- Maintain accurate vendor records, contracts, and documentation
- Manage vendor risks and develop contingency plans
- Conduct periodic vendor reviews and recommend improvements or replacements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills
- Excellent communication and relationship-management abilities
- Good understanding of vendor sourcing, pricing, and performance metrics
- Proficiency in MS Office and vendor/procurement management systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
