Overview of the role

• The Transport Officer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring the movement of company vehicles, drivers, and goods to ensure timely, safe, and cost-effective transportation operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate daily transportation schedules for deliveries and pickups.
• Assign vehicles and drivers based on delivery requirements and route efficiency.
• Monitor vehicle movements and ensure adherence to delivery timelines.
• Ensure compliance with traffic laws, company transport policies, and safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of vehicle usage, fuel consumption, mileage, and maintenance.
• Coordinate routine vehicle servicing, repairs, and inspections.
• Manage driver attendance, conduct briefings, and enforce discipline and safety standards.
• Investigate and report accidents, breakdowns, or delays promptly.

Requirements & Qualifications

• BSc / HND / OND in Logistics, Transport Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in transport or logistics operations.
• Good knowledge of fleet management and road safety regulations.
• Strong organizational and coordination skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic logistics software.
