Talent Acquisition & Development Manager
Our client is a prominent Pan-African conglomerate with over 60 years of operational excellence across multiple sectors in more than 20 African countries.
Our client is seeking a strategic and results-driven Talent Acquisition & Development Manager, who will design and execute end-to-end talent strategies that fuel the growth of the Company. You will be responsible for sourcing top-tier industrial talent, fostering a culture of continuous learning, and ensuring our workforce is prepared for the future through robust succession planning.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Talent Acquisition
- Develop and execute talent acquisition strategies to attract top talent in the manufacturing industry.
- Work closely with hiring managers to understand workforce needs and manage the recruitment process, from sourcing and interviewing to selection and onboarding.
- Utilize various recruiting platforms, industry networks, and partnerships to source high-quality candidates.
- Promote the company as an employer of choice through branding and networking initiatives.
Talent Development
- Design and implement programs for employee development, including training, mentorship, and skill-building workshops tailored to manufacturing processes.
- Work with department leaders to establish competency frameworks and identify skills gaps.
- Lead performance management initiatives, including goal setting, feedback, and performance appraisals to help employees achieve career growth.
Employee Engagement & Retention
- Develop employee engagement initiatives that foster a positive and productive work environment.
- Monitor employee satisfaction and identify areas for improvement to reduce turnover.
- Implement and manage recognition and reward programs to enhance employee motivation and retention.
Workforce Planning and Succession Management
- Support the development of workforce plans that align with production goals, budget constraints, and growth projections.
- Identify and prepare high-potential employees for leadership roles through succession planning programs.
- Track and analyze workforce metrics to inform staffing and development strategies.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)
- Champion DEI initiatives, ensuring recruitment, development, and retention practices reflect diverse and inclusive values.
- Work to create an inclusive environment that respects different perspectives and experiences across all levels of the organization.
Compliance and Reporting
- Ensure all talent management processes comply with labor laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Prepare regular reports on key talent metrics and make data-driven recommendations for process improvements.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 8 years in Talent Management or Recruitment, with a strong preference for candidates from the manufacturing or industrial sector.
- Proficiency in HRIS and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
- Deep knowledge of modern recruitment strategies and performance management frameworks.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant HR professional certifications (e.g., CIPM, PHRi, SHRM) are an added advantage.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (SUCCESS METRICS)
- Efficiency: Reduce average time-to-fill for critical production roles by 10%.
- Optimization: Decrease cost-per-hire by 10% within the first year.
- Retention: Reduce voluntary turnover for production staff by 5%.
- Engagement: Increase overall employee engagement scores by 20%.
- Compliance: Achieve a 95% completion rate for mandatory safety and production training.
