Systems Administrator
Job Overview
- We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Administrator with strong experience in Windows Server environments and Hyper-V virtualization to join our Infrastructure team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing our Windows-based servers and virtual infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and security.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and manage Windows Server 2022/2025 operating systems.
- Perform routine system maintenance including patching, updates, and firmware upgrades.
- Administer and optimize Active Directory (AD), DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy Objects (GPOs).
- Automate administrative tasks using PowerShell or similar scripting tools.
- Design, implement, and manage Hyper-V virtual environments.
- Configure and maintain virtual machines (VMs), templates, snapshots, and replication.
- Optimize VM performance through proper resource allocation and load balancing.
- Monitor and maintain High Availability (HA) and disaster recovery configurations.
- Implement and enforce IT security policies for Windows servers and virtual environments.
- Manage system backups and ensure disaster recovery plans are tested and effective.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks across physical and virtual servers.
- Analyze system logs and provide timely resolution to technical issues.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for server configurations, processes, and policies.
- Prepare regular reports on system performance, capacity planning, and uptime metrics.
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server (2019/2022) and core services (AD, DNS, DHCP).
- Hands-on experience with Hyper-V virtualization technologies.
- Familiarity with NAS storage systems in virtualized environments.
- Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation (PowerShell; Python is an advantage).
- Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls).
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Relevant Windows Systems Administration certifications are highly desirable.
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience as a Windows/Unix Systems Administrator.
- Availability to work outside standard business hours for maintenance, upgrades, or emergencies.
