Solar Technician
The Role
- Itel Energy is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Solar Technician to install, maintain, and troubleshoot solar power systems.
- The ideal candidate will have hands-on technical expertise in solar PV systems, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to ensure optimal system performance and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Install solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, including panels, inverters, batteries, and associated electrical components.
- Conduct site assessments and system sizing based on customer energy requirements.
- Perform system wiring, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
- Carry out routine maintenance and inspections to ensure system efficiency and longevity.
- Diagnose and resolve technical faults in solar installations.
- Ensure all installations comply with safety standards and electrical regulations.
- Maintain accurate service records, installation reports, and technical documentation.
- Provide technical support and guidance to customers on system usage and maintenance.
- Collaborate with the sales and engineering teams to ensure smooth project execution.
Requirements
- 3–5 years’ experience in solar installation and maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of solar PV systems, inverters, charge controllers, and battery storage systems.
- Good understanding of electrical wiring and safety standards.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and system designs.
- Hands-on experience with troubleshooting and fault diagnosis.
- Technical certification in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field (preferred).
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work on-site and at heights when required.
