Screen Printer
Responsible for operating screen printing equipment to print product branding, batch details, expiry dates, barcodes, and regulatory information on food packaging materials. Ensures accuracy, quality control, and compliance with food safety and labeling standards.
Key Responsibilities
Screen Preparation and Setup
- Prepare and expose screens according to approved packaging artwork.
- Verify correctness of product information before printing.
- Mount and align screens for single or multi-color jobs.
Machine Operation
- Set up and calibrate screen printing machines.
- Mix and prepare approved food-grade inks.
- Conduct test prints to confirm alignment and clarity.
- Operate machines during production runs while maintaining output targets.
Quality Control
- Inspect printed materials for defects such as smudging, color variation, misalignment, or incomplete prints.
- Ensure all expiry dates, batch numbers, and regulatory details are legible and accurate.
- Remove defective products and report quality issues immediately.
Compliance and Safety
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Maintain hygiene standards within the production area.
- Use personal protective equipment as required.
- Comply with food safety and labeling regulations.
Equipment Maintenance
- Clean screens, squeegees, and machines after production.
- Reclaim and store screens properly.
- Report machine faults to maintenance personnel.
Documentation
- Record daily production output.
- Maintain batch traceability records.
- Track ink and material usage.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of SSCE or technical certification.
- Experience in screen printing or manufacturing environment preferred.
- Knowledge of food packaging regulations is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work under production deadlines.
