Job Summary

• The Road Engineer will be responsible for both the design and supervision of road infrastructure projects.
• The role involves preparing engineering designs, drawings, and specifications, as well as overseeing on-site construction to ensure compliance with approved designs, standards, and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Road Design:

• Carry out geometric design of roads, highways, and related infrastructure.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, calculations, and technical specifications.
• Conduct site investigations and review survey and geotechnical data.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable standards, codes, and regulations.
• Prepare cost estimates, bills of quantities, and design reports where required.
• Review and update designs based on site conditions and project requirements.

Construction Supervision:

• Supervise road construction works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Monitor contractors’ activities, workmanship, materials, and progress on site.
• Conduct site inspections and prepare supervision reports.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
• Certify completed works and recommend payments based on progress achieved.

General Duties:

• Provide technical support to the project team.
• Attend project meetings and provide engineering input.
• Identify risks and propose mitigation measures.
• Ensure projects are delivered within scope, quality, time, and budget.
