Radiographer
JOB SUMMARY:
We are looking for a Radiographer who is able to perform diagnostic imaging examinations using X-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound, and other imaging equipment to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions, while adhering to radiation safety standards, professional ethics, and patient care protocols.
- Conduct imaging procedures like X-ray, SCAN, CT, MRI, and mammography (as applicable).
- Prepare and position patients correctly for imaging procedures.
- Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxiety and ensure cooperation.
- Operate imaging equipment safely and accurately.
- Ensure radiation protection and safety for patients, staff, and self.
- Review images for quality and accuracy before submission to physicians.
- Maintain and update patient imaging records and reports.
- Observe and report any abnormalities or equipment malfunctions.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper functioning of imaging equipment.
- Comply with hospital policies, regulatory guidelines, and professional standards.
- Assist in emergency imaging procedures when required.
- Participate in continuous professional development and training.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Radiography or Medical Imaging.
- Valid practising license with the Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria (RRBN) (or relevant regulatory body).
- Minimum of [2–5] years post-qualification experience (preferred).
- Sound knowledge of radiation safety and imaging protocols.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, or on-call duties if required.
Skills & Competencies:
- Proficiency in operating imaging equipment.
- Knowledge of patient care and safety procedures.
- Ability to handle sensitive patient information confidentially.
- Problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
