PST Lifeguard Instructor
Role Summary
- The PST Lifeguard Instructor will be responsible for delivering practical safety training, specifically focusing on personal survival techniques, lifeguard duties, and emergency response procedures.
- The instructor will conduct training sessions in line with industry standards and regulatory requirements to ensure trainees are competent and confident in lifesaving and survival techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive PST (Personal Survival Techniques) training tailored to maritime personnel, including lifeguard skills and emergency protocols.
- Develop and update training materials and practical exercises to enhance learning outcomes.
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to gauge trainee competence and certification readiness.
- Maintain accurate training records and documentation in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Ensure all training equipment and facilities are maintained in safe working order.
- Collaborate with the training management team to continuously improve the curriculum and training effectiveness.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental policies during training delivery.
Qualifications & Experience
- Certified PST Instructor qualification or equivalent recognized certification.
- Proven experience as a lifeguard and trainer in a maritime or related safety training environment.
- Good understanding of maritime safety regulations and survival techniques (STCW compliance preferred).
- Strong communication and instructional skills with the ability to engage trainees effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and maintain training facility standards.
- Physical fitness and preparedness to demonstrate practical survival and rescue techniques.
