Procurement Manager – IT / Digital & Sports Equipment
Responsibilities
- The Procurement Manager – IT/Digital & Sports Equipment will lead and manage procurement activities related to IT systems, software, licenses, digital platforms, technology infrastructure, Referee and technical football development procurement solutions.
- This role will ensure strategic sourcing, cost-effective purchasing, quality assurance, and compliance with CAF policies and international standards.
- Lead end-to-end procurement processes for IT systems, software solutions, licenses, and digital platforms.
- Coordinate procurement for Referee and technical football development departments, officiating tools, and all match and referee equipment requirements.
- Develop and implement category strategies aligned with CAF’s digital transformation and technical football purchases.
- Conduct market research and vendor evaluations to identify reliable and innovative suppliers.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service-level agreements to ensure value for money.
- Establish supplier performance metrics and manage vendor relationships for continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with CAF procurement procedures, financial guidelines, and audit standards.
- Collaborate with IT, Digital, Referee, Technology, Competitions, and Refereeing departments to forecast needs and deliver timely solutions.
- Support inventory planning, asset management, and lifecycle oversight for technology and equipment.
- Prepare reports, procurement plans, and budget analyses for senior management.
Requirements (Profile)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain management, Business Administration, IT, Engineering, or related field.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CIPS, CPM, PMP) are an asset.
- 5–7 years of experience in procurement, with at least 3 years in technology or sports-related procurement.
- Strong vendor-management skills and a deep understanding of the digital and sporting environment.
- Experience with sports equipment procurement or sports organizations is a strong advantage.
- Strong understanding of IT systems, digital platforms, and technology licensing models.
- Excellent negotiation, contract-management, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluent in English both written and spoken; command of any of the other CAF official languages (French or Arabic) is a plus.
- Strong strategic sourcing and vendor-management capabilities.
- Detail-oriented with high standards of accuracy.
- Excellent communication and cross-department collaboration.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to innovate.
