Maintenance Worker
Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
- Repairs & Maintenance: Fix leaks, faulty locks, broken fixtures; perform carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical fixes.
- Preventative Care: Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on HVAC, life safety equipment, machinery, and grounds.
- Cleaning & Upkeep: Sweep, mop, wax floors, dust, clean windows, empty trash, and maintain clean work areas.
- Installation: Install shelves, fixtures, appliances, or assist with construction/improvement projects.
- Grounds-keeping: Mow lawns, clear debris and maintain landscaping.
- Documentation: Complete work orders, log maintenance activities, and report issues.
- Coordination: Advise supervisors on contractor needs and oversee outside vendors.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with hand/power tools, basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry.
- Soft Skills: Problem-solving/troubleshooting, communication, customer service, time management, dexterity, hand-eye coordination.
- Physical Ability: Stamina to perform manual tasks, lift heavy objects, and work in various conditions.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with safety procedures, building codes, and potentially specialized systems (HVAC, etc.).
Maintenance Worker Requirements:
- Proven maintenance experience.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Related degree from a technical college.
- Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
- Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts.
- Ability to check blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary.
- Ability to use common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches.
- Experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices.
- Experience performing routine maintenance.
- Strong organizational and follow up skills.
- Eye for detail.
- Professional presentation and attitude.
- Ability to maintain focus while working individually.
