Job Summary:

At Dangote Cement Plc, we are currently seeking a friendly and dedicated Forklift Operator to join our team. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient movement of materials and goods around our warehouses and industrial sites.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Operate forklifts to move pallets of products between storage racks and workstations.
  • Inspect pallets to ensure they are structurally sound and safe for use.
  • Perform daily safety and maintenance checks of machinery.
  • Adhere to all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures to operate the forklift safely and efficiently.
  • Safely and securely store the forklift after use.
  • Participate in routine maintenance of the forklift.
  • Report any maintenance or repair requirements to the Shift Manager.
  • Promote and practice workplace safety.

Requirements

  • Minimum of SSCE (Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination) or equivalent.
  • Valid Forklift Operator certification.
  • At least 4 years of experience operating a forklift.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team.

The Light Vehicle Driver will be responsible for safely operating light vehicles to transport people or items, performing basic maintenance checks, and ensuring timely and efficient delivery while following all traffic and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate assigned Light Motor Vehicles in a safe and efficient manner, following all relevant traffic laws, regulations, and company procedures.
  • Perform daily safety inspections and basic maintenance checks on the vehicle.
  • Conduct pre-operational checks and ensure vehicles are cleaned, lubricated, and refueled as per schedule or operational needs.
  • Monitor vehicle performance and report any maintenance or repair requirements to the Supervisor promptly.
  • Ensure routine servicing and cleanliness of the vehicle are maintained at all times.
  • Follow proper safety procedures and promote workplace safety during driving and loading/unloading tasks.
  • Maintain accurate records of trips, fuel usage, and maintenance checks when required.
  • Perform additional duties and transportation-related tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.

Requirements

  • Must possess a valid Class C, D, or E Driver’s Licence and a maximum qualification of OND.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of corporate driving experience. 
  • Good knowledge of light motor vehicles.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good understanding of road safety rules and signs.
  • Baseline problem analysis and solving skills.
  • Flexible to work different shifts, weekends, and overtime when required.            `
