Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support M&A, capital raising, valuations, and corporate restructuring transactions

  • Manage client relationships and coordinate transaction workstreams
  • Support senior bankers in deal origination and execution.

Requirements

  • 6–10 years’ experience in investment banking or corporate finance

Description

  • Our client is seeking a highly skilled and performance-driven Equity Trader to join its investment team.
  • This role is critical to executing equity strategies, optimizing portfolio performance, and ensuring strict regulatory compliance within Nigeria’s capital market framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute equity trades (local and international markets where applicable) in alignment with approved investment mandates and strategies.
  • Monitor market trends, price movements, liquidity conditions, and macroeconomic indicators to identify profitable trading opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Portfolio Managers and Research Analysts to implement tactical and strategic asset allocation decisions.
  • Manage order flow, risk exposure, and transaction costs to maximize returns.
  • Ensure full compliance with regulatory guidelines set by the Securities and Exchange Commission Nigeria and the Nigerian Exchange Group.
  • Maintain accurate trade records, reporting documentation, and audit trails.
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with brokers, custodians, and other market counterparties.

Requirements

  • 5 – 7 years of hands-on experience as an Equity Trader within a registered and licensed Asset Management Firm (mandatory due to regulatory requirements).
  • Strong understanding of Nigerian capital markets, trading systems, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Proven track record of delivering consistent trading performance.
  • Deep analytical capability, risk management expertise, and high attention to detail.
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CIS, CFA – added advantage).
  • High ethical standards, discretion, and regulatory awareness.
