Job Summary
- Coleman Wires and Cables, the largest cable manufacturer in West Africa, is seeking a Store Officer to manage the receipt, storage, and issuance of raw materials, tools, and finished products in the warehouse and production store.
- The ideal candidate will ensure proper inventory control, stock accuracy, and efficient store operations to support manufacturing and supply chain processes.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management & Stock Control:
- Maintain accurate records of stock levels, material usage, and product movement in the store.
- Conduct regular stock checks, cycle counts, and reconciliation of physical stock with ERP records.
- Ensure proper documentation of goods received, stored, and issued in line with company policies.
- Monitor minimum and maximum stock levels to prevent overstocking or stockouts.
Store Operations & Material Handling:
- Oversee the receiving, storage, and dispatching of raw materials, consumables, and finished goods.
- Ensure proper arrangement and labeling of materials for easy identification and retrieval.
- Implement FIFO (First-In, First-Out) and LIFO (Last-In, First-Out) inventory methods where applicable.
- Supervise loading and offloading activities to minimize material handling damage.
ERP Data Entry & Reporting:
- Update stock records in the ERP system for accurate tracking of inventory.
- Generate stock movement reports, material usage reports, and warehouse activity reports.
- Assist in inventory audits and ensure compliance with company stock management procedures.
Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure the store is clean, organized, and meets safety regulations.
- Follow company health, safety, and environmental (HSE) guidelines in material handling.
- Monitor storage conditions of sensitive materials to prevent damage or deterioration.
Coordination & Communication:
- Work closely with Production, Procurement, and Logistics teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Coordinate with suppliers and transport teams for timely stock replenishment and dispatch.
- Assist in training store personnel on inventory handling procedures.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Management or Social Sciences or a related field.
- 3 – 5 years of experience in data entry, inventory or warehouse management in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Additional certifications in Inventory Management, Warehouse Operations, or ERP systems are an advantage.
- Experience working with ERP software for inventory management (SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Odoo, or Oracle ERP).
- Applicant must be between 25 – 35 years old.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management, inventory control, and stock reconciliation.
- Ability to use ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, and stock monitoring tools.
- Understanding of material handling, storage procedures, and supply chain best practices.
Soft Skills:
- High attention to detail and accuracy in stock management.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
