Job Summary:
- The Director of Works and Physical Planning Unit is responsible for overseeing the planning, development, and maintenance of the University’s physical infrastructure and facilities.
- The Director is also expected to undertake any additional responsibilities as assigned by the Vice- Chancellor
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic plans for the University’s physical Development
- Manage the maintenance and upkeep of University buildings, roads, and facilities
- Oversee the planning and execution of capital projects
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
- Supervise a team of professionals and support staff
- Collaborate with other University departments and stakeholders
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a second-class degree in a relevant field (e.g., Architecture,
- Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Estate Management)
- Not below the rank of Chief Engineer or Deputy Director
- Professional certifications (e.g., COREN, NIA, NQS, NIQS) are an advantage
Requirements:
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in a similar role
- Proven track record of managing large-scale projects and teams
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Conditions of Service
- The appointment shall be for a term of five (5) years and renewable upon satisfactory
- performance. Salary and other benefits are attractive and comparable to what is obtainable in other
- Universities and as may be determined from time to time by the Governing Council.

Qualifications
- Applicants for the position of Reader must possess a PhD degree in a relevant discipline with at least five (5) years post-qualification experience in teaching and research in a university system.
- He/she must show evidence of scholarships and a track record of outstanding research with at least eighteen (18) publications in both local and international peer-reviewed publications.
- Applicants must have been a Senior Lecturer for a minimum of two (2) years before the date of this advertisement. He/she must be a member of the relevant professional bodies for professional
- Departments. In addition, applicants must be computer-literate and have a good understanding of Information and Communication Technology.
